Ah Sanibel, one of Buster‘s favorite vacation locations years ago when we moved to Florida. We were trying to find vacation spots that were pet friendly. Shortly afterwards we ran across a little island called Sanibel. Sanibel is on the western shores of Florida. What is unusual about Sanibel is the orientation to the Gulf of Mexico. Because of its orientation, Sanibel’s beaches are littered with seashells as far as the eye can see. But even better with Sanibel it welcomes dogs and has a laid-back atmosphere. We spent many happy vacations there with Buster and accumulated many happy memories . About halfway into 2022 was the first time we went back there without Buster, and yes it was different but it was still nice revisiting those places where Buster had all those happy memories. Sanibel holds a unique place in our hearts even more so today. A few short months after we went back there for a visit, Hurricanes Ian came through and devastated that island. While Sanibel is recovering today, it has a long ways to go. Enjoy those happy memories in various vacations and enjoy those fur kids while you have them because you don’t know how long those times will last.
